The Soul & the Search for Meaning – Unit 2

Unit 2 explores how Christianity, from St. Augustine to Dante, translated the ancient Greeks’ view of life and the cosmos with a Christian prism. Explore such questions as “Is it possible to know what God is?”, “How can a long poem like Dante’s Inferno deal more effectively with big ideas than a philosophic essay?” and “Do you think the universe has a meaning?” as Dr. Ruzicka discusses such works as Augustine’s Confessions, Thomas Aquinas’ work on the Gentiles, and Dante’s The Divine Comedy.

This course offers the option to participate in a guided cohort, which begins on March 25. More information on the guided cohort is available in our FAQ.
